About the author:
David Strauzz is a Czech artist of Canadian origin and a prominent figure in the contemporary Czech street art scene. His work focuses on contemporary urban art, mixed media and abstraction. He has come to public attention mainly through his large-scale murals, in which he uses spray paint to create semi-abstract portraits composed of original texts. When the viewer looks closely at the painting, he sees only the inscriptions. However, from a distance or when looking at the work through a mobile phone, clear faces are visible.
David studied at Beal Art College in Ontario and then at the Ontario College of Art and Design University in Toronto. In 2012 he moved to the US where he has exhibited several times, including in Boston and New York. Three years later he settled in the Czech Republic. He currently works and has a studio in the Pragovka Art District. He is the director of the MEGA Gallery in the Karlovo náměstí metro vestibule in Prague, which promotes street art.
